The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released its updated Inflation- Adjusted Federal Civil Penalty for Non-Group Health Plans
Below are Medicare Secondary Payer adjustments, per calendar year:
For failure to provide information identifying situations where any non-group health plan (NGHP) fails to identify claimants who are Medicare beneficiaries and provide information to the HHS Secretary to coordinate benefits and pursue any applicable recovery claims, the penalty increased from $1,181 to $1,211
The Penalty for failure of any person to report information required by HHS under 42 CFR 411.361, Section 1877(f) concerning ownership, investment, and compensation arrangements, the penalty is increased from $19,639 to $20,134.
